The 3/4-16 Thread Pitch Speed Nut is for large and extra large pumps and 5/8-18 Thread Pitch Speed Nut is for Small and Medium pumps and replaces the existing impeller nut.
The tapered cone smooths the waterflow to the impeller as opposed to the stock nut which can cause water disturbance to the impeller.
The primary benefit of this product is takeoff. There is a minor speed improvement. Reduced water turbulence to the pump is the gain which results in better takeoff.
